Replace Mailchimp for events.
Your event emails and ticketing in one place.
For organizers managing event emails in a separate platform
Today, in four tabs
Not everyone runs all four. Whichever of them you do run, the event details get copied between them by hand, because none of them was built for events.
After
- A public page for every event, and a calendar of all of them Free
- Free RSVP with a capacity limit per date Free
- Tickets with QR check-in and a check-in dashboard Pro
- Newsletters to the people who follow your schedule Free
The gaps
Where Mailchimp limits you for events
Mailchimp was not built for event management. These are the places the event part has to be done somewhere else.
- Separate tool that does not connect to your event data
- Manual import/export of attendee lists
- No event pages, ticketing, or RSVP functionality
- Costs add up alongside other event tools
None of that is a fault in Mailchimp. It is a general-purpose tool being asked to run an event, which is why the rest of the job ends up in other tabs.
Done natively
What Event Schedule gives you over Mailchimp
The same work, in the tool that already knows what an event is.
Built-in Newsletters
Send event updates and promotions to subscribers directly from your schedule. A/B test subject lines to maximize opens.
Integrated Attendee Data
Your ticket buyers and subscribers are already in the system. No manual list imports or CSV juggling.
Zero Platform Fees
Sell tickets without platform fees. Only pay standard Stripe processing. Save money you would spend on Mailchimp plus ticketing.
Event Graphics
Generate shareable event graphics and flyers automatically. Promote events without needing separate design tools.
Public Schedule Page
A shareable page with all your events. Visitors can subscribe to updates and buy tickets in one place.
Automatic Subscriber Growth
Ticket buyers become subscribers automatically. Your audience list grows with every event, no manual imports needed.
The swap sheet
Mailchimp vs Event Schedule
Line by line, on the event work. A dash in the Mailchimp column means that job is not built in, so today it is living in another tab. A tick in the Event Schedule column does not mean free: the three cards below say which plan carries what.
From $0/mo (Pro $5/mo)
| Feature | Mailchimp | Event Schedule |
|---|---|---|
| Email newsletters | Yes | With A/B testing |
| Subscriber management | Yes | Auto from ticket sales |
| Ticketing | Not built in | Zero platform fees |
| Event pages | Not built in | Yes |
| Event graphics | Not built in | AI-generated |
| Google Calendar sync | Not built in | Two-way sync |
| Unlimited subscribers | Paid tiers | Free |
| Platform fees | Per contact pricing | Zero |
Free
$0Unlimited events and schedules. Public event pages and a shareable calendar. Two-way Google, Outlook and CalDAV sync. Free RSVP with a capacity limit. Embeddable calendar, built-in analytics, AI event parsing, and 10 newsletter emails a month.
Pro
$5 a monthTicketing with QR check-in and the check-in dashboard. Custom fields on the form, waitlist, promo codes, sales export. Event graphics, the embeddable ticket widget, the REST API and webhooks. 100 newsletter emails a month.
Enterprise
$15 a monthYour own domain. Up to five team members. Internal and unlisted events. AI flyer and style generation, AI agenda scanning, WhatsApp event creation, and 1,000 newsletter emails a month.
Two footnotes worth reading before you switch. Your follower list is never capped, but the monthly newsletter allowance counts recipients rather than sends, so one letter to 40 followers spends 40 of it. And Free is a single team member; extra members are Enterprise. What does not change with the plan is the fee on ticket sales, which is zero on all three. Past Stripe's own processing, the money is yours.

About Mailchimp
Mailchimp is a popular email marketing platform that many event organizers use to promote events and communicate with attendees. However, using Mailchimp means managing a separate tool alongside your event platform, manually syncing attendee lists, and paying for email marketing on top of your event tools.
What it is good at
- Powerful email automation and drip campaigns
- Advanced audience segmentation and analytics
- Large template library for marketing emails
Why switch to Event Schedule?
Mailchimp handles email, but Event Schedule combines newsletters, ticketing, and attendee management so you never juggle separate tools.
What moves across
- Newsletters with A/B testing built into your event platform
- Subscriber lists that sync automatically with ticket buyers
- Zero platform fees on ticket sales, saving the cost of Mailchimp plus a ticketing tool
- Open source with selfhosting option for full data ownership
Mailchimp to Event Schedule FAQ
What people ask before they move the event work across.
Is Event Schedule a good Mailchimp alternative for event emails?
Yes. Event Schedule includes built-in newsletters with A/B testing, subscriber management, and automatic attendee data integration. You can send event announcements and updates directly from your schedule without a separate email tool.
How much does Event Schedule cost compared to Mailchimp?
Event Schedule is free for newsletters, subscriber management, and unlimited events. The Pro plan at $5/month adds ticketing with zero platform fees. Mailchimp charges based on subscriber count and can cost $20 or more per month for similar email features alone.
Does Event Schedule support email automation like Mailchimp?
Event Schedule focuses on event-specific communications: newsletters to subscribers, sale confirmations, and event updates. While it does not have Mailchimp-style drip campaigns, it covers the email needs of most event organizers without requiring a separate platform.
Can I import my Mailchimp subscriber list?
Event Schedule builds your subscriber list organically. Visitors subscribe through your schedule page and ticket buyers are added automatically. You do not need to import a CSV since new subscribers opt in directly through your events.
Can I send newsletters to people who bought tickets?
Yes. Ticket buyers are automatically part of your subscriber base. You can send newsletters to all subscribers or target specific segments without manually importing attendee lists.
