Where Calendly limits you for events

Calendly was not built for event management. These are the places the event part has to be done somewhere else.

Two footnotes worth reading before you switch. Your follower list is never capped, but the monthly newsletter allowance counts recipients rather than sends, so one letter to 40 followers spends 40 of it; the automatic digest of new events that confirmed subscribers get does not count against it. And Free is a single team member; extra members are Enterprise. What does not change with the plan is the fee on ticket sales, which is zero on all three, or the ways to get paid: Stripe, PayPal, Payfast for rand, Invoice Ninja, a payment link or cash. Past the processor's own fee, the money is yours, and a Stripe or PayPal sale can be refunded from the Sales page in full or in part.

Is Event Schedule a good Calendly alternative for public events?

Does Event Schedule have a free plan?

Yes. The free plan includes unlimited events, public event pages, one bookable appointment type, Google Calendar sync, newsletters, and fan engagement features. Selling tickets is free too, up to 25 paid ones a month with zero platform fees and the QR on each scanned at the door; Pro at $5/month removes the cap and adds the live check-in dashboard.

Does Event Schedule sync with Google Calendar like Calendly?

Yes. Event Schedule includes two-way Google Calendar sync on the free plan. Events you create sync to your Google Calendar, and Google Calendar events can sync back. CalDAV sync is also supported.

Can attendees add events to their own Google Calendar?

Yes. Event pages include an option to add the event to Google Calendar or download an iCal file. Guests can also subscribe to a live calendar feed of your schedule, which adds every event and updates itself when dates change. Two-way Google Calendar sync also keeps your own calendar updated automatically when you create or edit events in Event Schedule.

Can I use Event Schedule for recurring events?

Yes. Event Schedule supports recurring events with flexible scheduling patterns. Each occurrence can have its own ticket types and attendee limits, which is something Calendly cannot handle for public events.

Can people still book a slot with me one to one?

Yes, and that part is free with one appointment type. Publish the hours you are available, set the slot length and the interval between start times, add buffers either side, and people pick a time in their own timezone from a public booking page. Overrides cover the days that are different, an approval step is optional, and a slot can take payment through Stripe, a payment link or cash (PayPal and Payfast are for tickets, not bookings). Nothing can be booked over something already on your schedule, synced calendar entries included. More than one appointment type is on the Pro plan.

What happens if somebody needs to move their booking?

They reschedule it themselves from the private link in their confirmation, and you can do it from the booking row. It moves the existing booking rather than cancelling and rebooking, so the payment, the private link and the calendar entry all carry over instead of the guest having to pay again.

Can I refund a booking?

Yes, from the Sales page, where bookings sit with your other sales. A booking paid through Stripe can be refunded in full or in part, and the money goes back through Stripe; one paid by a payment link or in cash is marked as refunded instead, which records it without moving money.
